My name is Savannah. I’m 27, from Washington state, and just graduated from Bastyr University with my degree in Naturopathic Medicine. I’m a Mindbody Coach with a certification in biofeedback training and yoga teaching. In a nutshell, I help people learn to become their own healer through body wisdom and stress & trauma healing. Once I’m licensed as a Naturopathic Doctor, I will incorporate root-cause, whole-person medicine into this coaching practice, and I cannot wait!

Though I love my hair, my hair-care routine is fairly basic, actually. I’ve bounced around different “natural” cleaning and conditioning products. I’ve most recently purchased from a friend who sells Monat products, and while I like them, I would like to find a brand with even fewer synthetic ingredients. I enjoy having a quality leave-in conditioner because my hair dries feeling so moisturized. I only wash my hair a few days a week and have found my hair becomes less oily when I’m not washing it every day. I use a natural dry shampoo on the oily days ~ equal parts cocoa powder and arrowroot powder (for light brown hair) with a couple drops of essential oils mixed in. I do struggle with a dry scalp, and this is something I am still trying to figure out how to best take care of. I do love the color and texture of my hair, though I’ve always been jealous of my brother’s hair, as it’s much thicker than mine! I love that when I curl my hair, the curl can last for days. It’s absolutely my favorite thing to wake up with my hair nearly done for the day! I love using a few drops of oil or serum after my hair is dry to give it a little shine and reign in the bit of “frizz” that shows up in my freshly-washed hair. The brand I use was given to me by my mom and is called Color Vitacomplex, their “Surface Bassu Gold” serum. It’s time for me to get a post-quarantine haircut. My ends are feeling a little scraggly (is that a word? It’s always the word I use), and they need a refresh!
